On today’s episode, we are joined by Christina Marie, eating disorder advocate and a real life dater from a recent event called “Denver is Blind”. The event was similar to Netflix’s Love is Blind that was popular at the beginning of quarantine. She and I dive deep into the experience during and after the show plus the lessons she learned that she can apply to dating in Denver from now on.
Christina believes the outward emphasis or worries on body image, questioning their worth with a partner based on looks, without actually realizing love is not skin deep. And that perhaps individuals struggling with body image have much deeper trauma, healing or negative feelings that manifest in worries about body.
Her mission in life is to produce a body positive lifestyle brand that takes you from feeling lost to feeling found through the power of self love. The were too many big takeaways to list here but I especially enjoyed her perspective on dating more than one person, expectations vs. standards, and choosing a partner based on values and not physical appearance.
